Let’s Play Catch-up (Nov 07’ Vol. 1)

It would only be right to start off giving praise the soon to be NFL rookie of the year Adrian Peterson (aka: All Day) of the 3-5 Vikings. He is leading the league with 1,036 rushing yards, that’s 268 more than Willie Parker in second. Don’t forget he is also leading the NFL with 8 rushing TD’s. If that wasn’t enough he set a new single game NFL record this week with 296 rushing yards and put the icing on the cake with 3 Td’s against a struggling Chargers squad. You did hear me say Rookie, right?

All Day

If you think the Chargers Defense was embarrassed, what was the Ravens Defense thinking when they let Ben Roethlisberger throw for 5 TD’s in 3 quarters on Monday Night Football. Doesn’t look like anyone is scared of that one time great Ravens Defense anymore.

I know someone who knew about the Ravens Defense, Las Vegas.
They begged you to take the Ravens +9.5 points over the Steelers. 9.5 Points! Final 38-7 Steelers, I’m sure there were some serious losers out there. But in the game of the week (Hailed Super Bowl 41 ½ by the Media) they gave the defending Super Bowl Champs 5 points against a red hot New England Patriots. How ironic the final score was 24-20 Patriots (New England stays undefeated), just enough to cover, don’t underestimate Las Vegas.

The NBA cranked up last week. I for one enjoy the NBA so all you haters please don’t rain on my parade just because you liked the good old days better. The days of MJ were great, no, amazing, but living in the past is not. I have been asking myself, are the Boston Celtics the real deal with KG, R. Allen and P. Pierce? My answer is YES! If I was a head coach in the mediocre East I would not want to face Boston in the playoffs. Then in the West there’s Kobe. He has handed the divorce papers to the Lakers, they haven’t signed and they still sleep in the same bed. Enough said. Can anyone beat the Spurs when it counts?

———————————————————————————–

Just want to congratulate the Boston Red Sox for winning the 2007 World Series. I never would have imagined a sweep of the Rockies. I yelled at my radio when Greenie from Mike and Mike called a sweep the day of the first game, good waste of breath. A-Rod wants a boat load of money, what’s new? The LA Dodgers signed Joe Torrie as their manager, I say good move. My predictions, Joe will sign a couple free agents and lobby a trade for a big name player getting the Dodgers to spend more money. All in all a good move for Baseball on the West coast considering Boston and New York are the MLB’s cash cows and the West Coast needs to step up. Yea I said it! (Yes East Coast Homer)

Growing up in the south College Football is pounded into your head everyday. Did I say College Football, I meant to say the SEC. From top to bottom the best conference, but their top schools are not dominating like one (SEC fan) would hope. With LSU barley beating Alabama because of a late fumble they are number 2 in the nation. Looking at their (LSU) last 3 games (Louisiana Tech, Ole Miss and Arkansas) they will run the table and most likely end up playing for the BCS Nation Championship. Just think how one fumble could have changed things. Just want to give a big shout out to South Florida who three weeks ago was the Cinderella story of 2007 and being ranked number 2 in the nation. To bad the last three weeks they did not live up to being ranked #2 with losses to Rutgers in prime time, Connecticut and Cincinnati. They were riding so high. Boston College also fell to Virginia Tech, seems like most of the underdogs are gone except for Kansas at 9-0 (ranked 5th), aren’t they a Basketball school?

  1. I’m hoping for Kansas vs. Ohio St. in the championship game.
LSU would get beaten by OSU, imo.
Miles just isn’t that good of a coach. I fear the SEC would not be well represented, just like the Big Televen getting spanked by Florida last year was damaging to both Ohio State and their conference.

  2. Do you really think if LSU wins out that Kansas could jump them in the poles?
I would rather not see Kansas in a national title game unless it in basketball.

  3. Remaining schedule for LSU: La Tech ,Ole Miss, Arkansas ,SEC Championship game
Remaining schedule for Kansas: Oklahoma St, Iowa St, Missouri, Big 12 Championship game

Given that LSU has two non-televised games in the next two weeks, I think Kansas could pass them. Will it hold up? Maybe. Will Kansas win out? Prolly not.

  4. I read this today on the Adrian Peterson website:

“Peterson becomes the first Vikings rookie since Randy Moss (1993) and first Vikings rookie running back since Chuck Foreman (1973) to be named to the Pro Bowl.”

“The Vikings have the No. 1 rushing offense in the league, and that success has helped get center Matt Birk and guard”

What a god he is and he is only just starting, if he can avoid more injuries…dammmm.

    Mike.
